Survey #3 - Class Satisfaction

By the end of the day, we will have completed 8 of 12 classes in BUS 477.  By now, you should have completed four assignments and have much of your final business plan completed.

Is BUS 477 turning out to be the course you thought it was?

Please take a few moments to tell me about your experience in BUS 477 so far by completing this short online survey.

Please be honest with your answers and as thorough as possible by sharing your thoughts in the comment boxes.  I use your feedback when I select guest speakers, supplementary materials and discussion topics.

Please take this survey now. It shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes. If I have 30 responses by Sunday evening, I will summarize the results and we can review in class next week.

Survey Results

Here's a brief summary of the survey results:

  • 24 / 33 students registered in the class responded to the survey (73%)
  • Organization of the class: roughly 25% of the respondents really like the class and how it is organized, 50% like it, 8% moderately dislike it and the rest don't have an opinion either way.  1 person commented that they would like to see very specific expectations of the assignments.  1 person would like to see in-class monitoring of the term project.  1 liked the flexibility around assignments and would like to see homework more specifically clarified on the class website.  Several liked the class website and how it was organized while 1 found it confusing.  Several students liked the way personal experiences are integrated into the class discussions and 1 wanted less. Everyone appeared to like the videos.
  • Guest speakers.  Everyone likes the concept of having guest speakers. All guest speakers were well-received.  There was a range of personal likes and dislikes.  Several students commented that they could not comment because they were not present for one or several guest speakers.
  • Overall satisfaction with BUS477.  20% very satisfied, 58% satisfied, 17% neutral and 4% dissatisfied. At least 2 students felt they did not have adequate opportunity to participate in class discussions.
